Weekly Beef Export Sales 09/06 07:35
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 362,300 pieces for 2024 were up 14 percent
from the previous week, but down 13 percent from the prior 4-week average.
Increases reported for China (247,000 whole cattle hides, including
decreases of 11,800 pieces), Thailand (41,300 whole cattle hides,
including decreases of 800 pieces), Mexico (38,900 whole cattle hides,
including decreases of 1,000 pieces), South Korea (24,300 MT, including
decreases of 100 pieces), and Taiwan (3,900 whole cattle hides), were
offset by reductions for Brazil (200 pieces) and Italy (200 pieces). In
addition, total net sales of 7,200 kip skins were for Belgium. Exports of
379,900 pieces were down 5 percent from the previous week and 4 percent
from the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hides exports were primarily
to China (278,400 pieces), Mexico (39,000 pieces), South Korea (17,900
pieces), Brazil (17,900 pieces), and Thailand (12,200 pieces). In
addition, exports of 1,900 calf skins were to Italy.
Net sales of 56,500 wet blues for 2024 were down 43 percent from the
previous week and 55 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases
primarily for Thailand (37,000 unsplit) and China (16,900 unsplit), were
offset by reductions for Italy (200 unsplit) and Brazil (100 unsplit).
Exports of 130,600 wet blues were down 23 percent from the previous week
and 11 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were
primarily to China (40,400 unsplit), Italy (27,400 unsplit and 5,300 grain
splits), Vietnam (24,100 unsplit), Thailand (20,000 unsplit), and Brazil
(6,600 unsplit). Total net sales reductions of 1,900 splits were for South
Korea. Exports of 82,100 splits were to Vietnam.
Beef: Net sales of 16,500 MT for 2024 were down 4 percent from the
previous week and 7 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were
primarily for Japan (7,700 MT, including decreases of 200 MT), Taiwan
(2,100 MT), South Korea (1,600 MT, including decreases of 400 MT), Mexico
(1,400 MT, including decreases of 100 MT), and China (800 MT, including
decreases of 100 MT). Exports of 14,900 MT were up 1 percent from the
previous week and 5 percent from the prior 4-week average. The
destinations were primarily to Japan (3,600 MT), South Korea (3,200 MT),
China (1,900 MT), Mexico (1,600 MT), and Taiwan (1,300 MT).
Pork: Net sales of 20,800 MT for 2024 were down 51 percent from the
previous week and 29 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were
primarily for Mexico (10,000 MT, including decreases of 300 MT), Colombia
(1,900 MT, including decreases of 100 MT), Japan (1,600 MT, including
decreases of 200 MT), Australia (1,500 MT), and South Korea (1,400 MT,
including decreases of 400 MT). Exports of 28,000 MT were down 5 percent
from the previous week and 7 percent from the prior 4-week average. The
destinations were primarily to Mexico (12,500 MT), Japan (4,300 MT), China
(2,300 MT), South Korea (2,000 MT), and Colombia (1,700 MT).
